Figured it would be a good idea to document my tank

I bought a red sea 425xl as it was going cheap locally in May but it didn't have water in until November,
Bought first fish early december, believe I added everything too quick and stressed the fish weakening their immune system and had a velvet/brook wipeout.

Big learning curve, So now everything wet gets quarantined for the recommended time.

As the tank is fallow it's given me time to think and I've decided to upgrade to a bigger tank
And in the coming months I'll be going for a 72 x 26 height x 28 wide,
Approx 850L display Volume

In the end decided to go with fish tank fabrications,
Yet to push the button but will place the order within the next month!

Equipment wise I'll be transferring most of it over
Vectra m1
X filter 1.0
Reef octo 200-ss
Kamoer dosing pump
Maxspect gyre 350s

Decided I'm going to sell my radion gen 4 xr30s and go the orphek route, was looking at the ATI hybrid but I decided I wasn't going to rip my floor boards etc up for a fish tank light

Around a month after I added the triggers I noticed white spots on a few fish, nothing horrendous.

Read into ich and started reading humblefish forums, within 2/3 days the fish looked like this, I didn't have any QT tanks at the time regrettably and made the decision to treat in the tank, I had very little coral in comparison to value of fish so decided to aggressively dose hydrogen peroxide.

After 3 days the fish looked absolutely fine, although I'd read about the life cycle of ich, I thought I may have caught it,

Evidently not,

Within the space of about 8 days I lost every fish in the tank, which made me think and others it was potentially the more fatal disease, velvet/brooklynella.

The tank now sits empty,
Learnt my lesson. Copper treat all fish where possible
And once I'm happy I'll be looking at keeping coral, which will also be quarantined once I find a cheap setup once I've finished ploughing money into the new build

Decided yesterday that I’d tear the tank down whilst I had nothing else to do

took one of the brute containers that i use for RO storage and I’m using that for the next month or two to cycle the rock further,

I’ll continue adding micro bacter 7 and feed the bacteria somehow.. any ideas please post.

thinking maybe dr Tim’s ammonia..

hopefully I’ll be placing the order for the new tank this week at some point!
