I'd like to make some sort of drain pan under my mixing station reservoirs so in case of an overflow they won't soak the supplies underneath. I'm not aware of any commercial drain pan that would work, so my thought was to make an edge or lip all the way around with a 1x2, then line it with some extra pond liner (14 mil PVC.) as a drain, I thought I'd just put a bulkhead in the bottom connected to some pipe or tubing to direct it towards the floor drain.

Has anyone tried something like this and/or see any problems with my plan?

Lowes sells these for $10 they are to go under a hot water heater. Has a hole on the side you can plug or plumb to drain.

That was my first thought, but that wouldn't fit where I need it to. They make square drain pans for washers, but they're too big so I was trying to figure out a way to make my own.

I had this made at a local fab shop. $100.00.
