I have an MRC 2 that I've been using for a while. It works ok, but it simply doesn't put out the fine bubbles that something like a reef octopus does. I also have an old submerged Reef Octopus bubble wheel pump.

I am running the MRC as an external skimmer. What I'd like to do is drop the RO pump down into the bottom of the MRC so it helps chop up bubbles as well as bring in more air flow. To do this, I have to be able to get the cord and air hose outside. What ideas do you all have?

I thought about running them up and out the top, but that would make it difficult to take apart to clean or to empty skimmate.
