Hey guys, so I went down to my basement this morning and it looks like my Panworld 40 finally gave up and I'm wondering if there is anything else other than a Panworld to replace it with. Please let me know, I don't want to leave it stagnant for more than a couple of days. Thanks in advance.

Any pressure rated pump should work. PW stock has been pretty thin for a while …. i assume you cannot find a replacement 40? I ran both a PW 10 and a 30 on my ProCal. both worked fine. Iwaki MD 20 would work also.

Hmmm I do have an Iwaki pump, when I get home I'll see which model it is, maybe I'll be good to go with that. Any submersible pump works? I do like the external pump look but if I can use something I have, I'd rather do that.

Sorry, should have said any external pressure rated pump will work. Some submersibles can be switched between internal and external, though they’d need to be capable of pumping against some pressure. MTC used an eheim pump on the mini-cal, so something like that could work.

Alright let's see what I have and I guess I'll take it from there.

Thanks Simon! How have you been btw? Still keeping magnificent anemones?

I have an Iwaki WMD-20 that has been running my calcium reactor non-stop since 2005. I haven’t even replaced the impeller. So I would go for the longevity. You shouldn’t have to touch it again for a good long time.
