I have about half a dozen red with white spots mushrooms, which I think are discosomas, that have started detaching and getting swept all around the tank. 2 have reattached on a rock within the branching GSP and really irritating them. I've caught 4 or so and have them in an acrylic box with an anemone. I was actually glad they started doing this cause I was going to sell a few to thin them out before they took over. Now that pretty much all of them are detaching I'm wondering what's going on. Besides the irritated parts of the GSP every other corals are fine and fully opened.

I did add a new light above them but generally they'll just move to a more shaded spot if the increased lighting is bothering them. Plus the ones inside the box are all the way at the top are attached and fully opened. Some of the larger ones are 4 inches across.

They detach if the light or flow is more than they prefer IME. Keep them in your box out of strong flow, and put some rubble in the box under them, they will attach to the rubble in a week or two.
