I have a 10 month old tank which has all types of corals, but for some reason I'm not very good at acropores, they don't spread polyps and tend to get stn and some turn brown, but all the other sps and lps are fine.

My parameters:
Calcium 420
Kh 7.5
Magnesium 1260
Salinity 35ppt
Potassium 434
Iode 60
Icp good
Nitrates 3.4
Phosphate 0.03
Ph 8.4-8.6
I use triton and my lights are viparspectra and use configuration 80% blue 10 hours and 10% 6 hours, at height 11" over the water and the area of the acropores is the highest. I use redsea ab+ everyday and live phytoplankton.

What is your flow like?
Where are the pictures?
If I have to google the lights, it doesn’t mean that they are not good. Perhaps more of them, or better lights would work

Low phosphate at 0.03ppm, with testing error, could be zero.

Bump that to .1ppm

This one 2 years at .25ppm and tons of flow.

I have 2 gyres, an xf350 cloud and a 330 placed on opposite sides causing the flow of both to collide, both are in gradual anti-synchronized pulse mode 90% for the 330 and 60% for the 350.

The ICP and the Hanna test gave me the same result, 0.03 phosphates.
If that provides the results you’re expecting then no change. I’ve seen stunning tanks run zero phosphate (according to tests) and elevated phosphate in the .2-.4ppm range, so mostly, it’s up to the system.

How stable are your parameters in a given 24hr period including Salinity, ALK and PO4? How are you dosing major elements , manually or auto dose?

The salinity does not vary since I use redsea ato, neither do phosphates and I suspect more of the alkalinity because in 5 days with the automatic dosing kamoer of triton it dropped from 8.0 to 7.3 and I increased the dosage by 6ml last Sunday making a total of 26ml.

You need to raise your alkalinity to 8.5, magnesium and manganese and amino acids are often overlooked. Start dosing those elements and raise the alk. that should help quite a bit with growth and coloration good luck

Try for more ALK balance between 8.4 - 8.6 for a long period and this will help.

I think Instability can be the issue, but honestly there is no perfect answer. I've had some brown out change colors for no apparent reason when others are doing fine. Just depends on the species and I think buying ones grown in the hobby under aquarium lights and conditions helps a lot. Mine also don't extend polyps that much but they come out like at night so that's just how they are.
