My large tank is leaning forward and I need to shim it to level it. Do I need to stack shims in opposite directions?

I’m needing to shim the entire front end of my tank due to it leaning forward on my un level floor. I’ve needed to stack two shims on top of each other and that gives me the right lift to level it.

I’ve heard if you’re stacking shims you need to put them in opposite directions so as not to create a slope. I put both shims on top of each other with the fat side out. I just hammered them in and it worked. Do I need to pull the top one out and put it so the fat side is pointing inward as to not create a slope that my tank is resting on? If so, how do I get the top shim wedged in from the opposite direction?
