Going to try the approach mentioned in the article below. Debating on whether to try and dose the H202 as well. I only have the 3% but may try dosing it at 2-3 ml per gallon. (Thoughts?)

Hoping this wont have negative effect on my corals or anemone! I remember reading that snails and inverts could see a negative effect from one of the Dr Tims products. I may try to remove as many of them as I can and place them in my 20 gallon tank just to be safe.

If any one has tried this method or has any tips please let me know! I will try to document the process and let you know how it all goes!

I have a 75 gallon reef tank with 30 gallon sump. I been battling "whatever this is" for a while now and I'm just not getting anywhere. From my research it appears to be what others have referred to as "white slime" and is a bacteria. I don't get algae on my glass. I get a white film that covers it. It also covers my rocks if I don't siphon it often

I have tried scrubbing it off the rocks and doing water changes, running gfo, ran a UV sterilizer. Tried dosing vineager (made it worse).

Tank parameters:
Alk 8.5
Ca: 405
Sal: 35
Phosphate: 0 (hannah checker) assume it is being consumed by bacteria so it is showing 0

Did not have a nitrate test kit..

I have been battling it almost since I have had the tank set up which is 1.5 years....

I am 5 days into my treatment and so far I see no difference. One of my corals has not reacted to the H202 well, but seems to be improving.

Should I be seeing something yet?

Should I do a water change during this process or will that just remove the Bacteria I am adding?

Update: Day 8:

The white slime has not receded at all.. I am seeing some longer strands then I remember seeing before. Not sure if that's good or bad. I have one more day of adding refresh then I switch over to waste away! Hoping to see things improve soon...

Looks like a bacteria bloom. I had a breakout in a 75 gallon frag tank a couple of years ago. What ended up working is to leave the tank alone and do regular water changes and maintenance. I stopped adding any products. Use a turkey Bastet to blow the bacteria off the coral regularly. After three months or so your tank will come back into balance. JMHO

Update: It's day 14 and I have seen very little change. Tomorrow is the 1st day of the increased amount of waste away. I will keep the updates coming. Even though I do not have much to update.

Following. I believe I am suffering from the same issue. So far it's confined to the sump where my filter socks clog after 2 days. I just ordered Dr Tims Waste Away. Good Luck!

Yesterday was the 1st day of the increased amount of Waste away. Lights came on this morning and now have this on my sand bed

It is green in color (picture may be hard to see)

Should I try to syphon it out?

Is this a good or bad sign?

Thoughts?
