I have been using the X1 doser for over a year without problems. While adding a uv sterilizer I accidentally knocked the pump in the sump so it’s time to get a new one. Is there any benefit to the new versa doser that justifies the $150 or would I be better off just replacing with the same for 50.00? The new black X1 pro is out of stock everywhere or else I would most likely get one but at the end of the day it’s pretty much the same as the regular X1. Is there another cheeper option that I am not seeing? I only need 1 channel to dose 24ml of all for reef a day nothing too crazy. As a matter fact while typing this I think I talked myself out of the versa because it just seems like overkill and a waste of money.
Any thoughts y’all?

If it’s not broke, don’t fix. Well it is broke, but if you had success, the simplicity is hard to pass up.

I have the same pump and all for reef to dose, but I never hooked up. I only have 1 hammer and it seems good with just the water changes, but I’m debating finally connecting and getting more simple corals.

Question; how many coral do you have? Types?Size tank? Just curious. Thank you.

Difference with the new x1 is wifi (allowing pump to continue dosing schedule after power reset)

Now my 2 cents I use two x1 ogs and have not had a single problem with them, why not replace with what you know, and maybe score a deal from someone updating.

All for reef is great but enjoy not having to dose wile you can. With dosing comes time, money testing ect.
I have a reefer 250 which total volume after rocks is about 63 gal. Mixed reef about 50/50 LPS and SPS. I have to dose now about 24 mil AFR a day to maintain and every 3-4 days I have to top off my Alk due to consumption. Tank uses about 1-1.2 dKH a day. Tank is kinda stuffed and the only place corals can grow is up and out. Think I’ll stick with the X1 for 50.00 you can’t beat it
