Hey guys.
Newbie question, I have newa more nano reef aquarium 50 Liter , 3 month old.
He has built in light, skimmer heater and filter.
I'm not using the light and the skimmer just works sometimes.
The filter is a pas filter (see pictures).
I just wanted to replace all the all in one equipment
buyed a new filter that works 2 weeks already with coral breaks and pad (picture)
The question is if I can really give up on the skimmer on a nano reef
What do you think ?
The new filter is the white Sobo one.
Livestock is - 1 clown fish
1 skunk shrimp
3 turbo snails
2 gsp
2 anemone
1 Kenya tree
1 mushroom leather

why do you want to change things? If everything is thriving, usually best to leave it be. If there are issues, let's talk about those issues :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

My 3 year old 15 gallon reef has no skimmer and no filter. Only 2 powerheads and weekly 5 gallon water changes, thats it.

I don't see any powerheads in the tank, which means the water is not flowing into the filter and skimmer anyway.

How long have you had this tank?

Hey, thanks for you reply
I do have jebao powerhead he us working 24/7 .
Doing a good job even at 40% preforming good water flow.
I'm doing weekly 15% waterchanges anyway, do you think I can give up on the all in one skimmer?

Personally I would, yes. Just keep in mind that the skimmer also oxygenates the water, so by removing the skimmer you should compensate by pointing the powerhead at the surface to get good agitation, that will help oxygenate the water.

Thanks !
It's just a big piece that take all over my aquarium I want to get rid of the all in one filter, skimmer , light , heater.
And maybe rid of the heater for summer time , it's like 30-40C out here anyway.
I got 3 turbo snails snails today, the skimmer worked a little bit but I will get back 2 of them cause it's too small for 3 (first time that's I saw him actually working).
May i ask What kind of snail I got if you know :)
