Hey everyone! Just wanted to take a moment to share (with permission) two new nano skimmers that I am currently beta-testing for IceCap.
The first is currently running on my 25 Lagoon. It is 2.5”x2.3”x9.8” tall and runs at roughly 5 watts. It is rated for a 10-30gallon aquarium.
The second is running on my Nuvo 40. It is 3”x2.4”x11.14” and runs at roughly 6w with a slightly larger pump. The skimmer is rated for a 20-60 gallon aquarium.
I have been using them now for almost two months. They are quiet and broke in quickly. They pull a ton of crap out of the water. Water exits the skimmer through a sponge on the bottom opposite the intake. This sponge is the reason I’ve had zero micro bubbles. The skimmers clip on the back of the aquarium with an adjustable bracket that allows you to easily raise or lower the skimmer using the set screw. The cup then has an adjustable ring so you can raise and lower that as needed. The skimmer has built in channels to run the power cord and airline up and out of the water. So far I am pleased with performance and functionality. It’s difficult to find decent nano skimmers that work well and so far these are great. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the next version with a couple of design changes.
