So should be fine to throw it in there? Will the smell be bad though?
I can't tell you what the stuff in a bin in your garage smells like, lol. Take some out, give it a sniff, and decide for yourself. Is the rock still in water? If not, the nitrifying bacteria is likely gone, so add some Fritz Turbo Start to get the nitrification process started.

I’m not sure yet. Going to get them tomorrow. Let’s assume it does. Since it’s in a garage in Texas heat. Highs have mid 80s max.

If it doesn’t stink? Can I assume it’s safe to add into tank to cycle?
is it coming from another tank? how long has it been out of water?
