Hello Duane and Welcome to R2R! That could be tough be away unless you have someone that could check things out depending upon your needs. I know some corals don't need the attention as others do. Dosing for the corals have made things easier for many. Research!

Welcome aboard! With some light automation such as an Auto top off, auto feeder, you can certainly run a tank with a week or 2 away at a time. How long are you away for generally?

There are some great start-up guides here as well:

Good morning
I’m new to this site and I’m thinking about doing a reef tank. I have no clue where to start. I did purchase a 155 gallon tank that was used for salt water previously. I only have the filter setup for the main tank plus one tank that sits under the cabinet. I also spend a lot of time away from home so still tossing up if it’s worth the time and money to even setup a tank at home. Thanks Duane.

Welcome to Reef2Reef! Go to a local fish store not a chain and ask questions they will usually have good information. And of course you can ask questions here!
