Just finished the cycle in my tank, about to stock tomorrow with two clowns. My question is, would it be a good idea to keep my light off for a few weeks or does it not really matter? I know it would just be delaying the "ugly phase" but just trying to get some info before stocking.

While the ugly phase is unsightly, the fish should get some light even if its blue lights. Run at least 6-8 hours daily. You can utilize a timer for this if needed

If it is just fish, I'd simply run only the white lights at a low percentage and trhow in snails as soon as you see algae on the rocks and glass
