Everything I've read points out that this pump is dead silent. I have two mp40qwd's that I can't hear at all when in the same room.. but I can hear the reefwave from the other side of the house, and it is especially loud in the same room. It's not a grinding, something is broken noise.. just a "spinning" noise. Hard to explain.

Bumping this.. exchanged it at my LFS and the new one is nearly equally as loud... I can hear the whine of this thing three rooms away.. folks in the Red Sea facebook group are either saying theirs is super loud.. or that theirs is dead silent. What's the deal?

Hi Gideon, I'm facing the same thing overhere. I can even hear them at night when I'm in my bedroom.
Did you had a change to check with Red sea already? Curious to hear if there is an answer.
