If on a budget, I don't know why anyone would recommend buying a commercial sump. Just go to Petco and buy the largest tank that will fit in the space you want to use inside the stand. 40 breeder, or true 30 gallon, 29, or 20 long, etc.

Assuming (and not counting any sales):
Petco 40g breeder: $120.00 (albeit on sale now for $60.00)
Sump Baffle kit: $40 ebay?
Silicon: $10.00
Sock holder:$15.00
$185.00

and caution....as its glass.

This.

All the rimmed tanks are half price at Petco right now. 40/29/20L - whichever fits under the stand.

For baffles can also hit up your local glass store for plain square pieces of glass that’ll silicone in just fine.

So issue was none of the tanks I could get fit in my cabinet. I can only use half of it since it’s using supports in the middle to keep it from sagging and I didn’t want to modify it and the other side I have full of maintenance and other equipment for it. I could’ve easily made everything but got everything on sale and some used parts and friends gave me some equipment they weren’t using anymore.
