Hey I'm fairly new to reefing, been doing this for the passed 10/11 months or so. I've noticed this orange looking stuff growing on live rock and it started off small but has spread and now see it growing on another area of my live rock by a coral I've place. Does anyone one have a clue what it is? And how to remove it? Is it bad? I'm afraid it'll overtake a coral and kill it. It kind of looks like tunicate.
Btw sorry for the bad pic took them with my phone.

Looks pretty red in the pictures. The cyano I get on my rocks looks exactly like that. And it can be somewhat transparent.

Is it changing in size? Getting larger everyday?

Because of the blue in the lighting, but in the other picture you can see it's more orange. I've googled cyano and it doesn't look like it, I've seen cyano in a LFS tanks and it's different. It does spread but not significant amounts in a day, it's taken weeks maybe a month to get that much

@chimmike no it's coralline, there aren't any bubbles just a crappy looking picture [emoji28]

Yea with my blue lights it has a different shade, but it's been there a few months I wanna say, don't know if it came off a frag I bought, or a hitchhiker. I dip my frags so even if it did come and was a bacteria the dip should have taken care of it.
