Hey all! We’re planning our first larger-scale reef tank (90 gallons in the DT, sump excluded) and have a list for livestock we’ve been honing for a few months… after researching for months and talking to as many people would listen, I figured I’d toss this up to a few more aquatic-loving minds
Two questions: A) which order would you recommend adding the fish, and B) what else would you recommend as another semi-aggressive fish for the tank based on this list?
The list:
Clownfish (absolutely torn between two ocellaris or two tomatos or two maroon but that’s a whole new topic—I love them all!)
Snowflake Eel (we know to add him last)
Flame Angel (1 or 2 fish)
Tang (not sure which species yet but probably only one individual to avoid extra aggression… any recommendations on two that can co-exist?)
Pufferfish (not sure yet on species but really love the Valentini)
Wrasse
Possible: Butterflyfish, Open to others??
Planning out which order to add them to the tank has me going back and forth all over, but generally all of the fish our LFS gets in regularly are juveniles/on the small side. I also know the species of clown will (could?) greatly influence the order in which they go in, but I’m pretty sure no matter what the eel goes in last.
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated! Thank you all so much for reading!✨
