New fish from good LFS 48 hours ago. Seemed fine yesterday, today stayed hidden, didn't eat this evening but ate a little this morning. Not in QT- long story. He was added with a few other non-aggressive fish. I looked for him for a long time tonight, then he finally came out enough to lay against the rock a little for about 5 minutes. As if he was asking for help. Took a few pics then he's back to hidden. I just spent a couple hours looking at common fish diseases. This doesn't look like anything I read about. Is this an injury?New to reefing. No corals to sting. I do have a foxface but he's pretty calm. Please help.

Possibly an injury, but being a freshly acquired anthias I'm suspicious of Uronema.
This fish unfortunately has developed uronema and Inter cellular Uronema is very difficult to treat.
What other fish are in the tank?
This can also be triggered by low salinity levels as well as excess food waste on tank bottom which this protozoan can feed on as often prevention can be more valuable than cure for this.
Fish will have to be quarantined and treated with formalin based treatment which is harder to find, so next option is Ruby rally Pro. Chloroquine Phosphate will also work but must be used precisely. Uronema is not an obligate parasite, and can thrive on bacteria, uneaten food, and waste so besides treatment also maintain a clean tank removing waste daily.

Thanks for the replies. He died the next day. Looked like uronema I guess? Idk. My first loss. RIP. A long time fish guy said 4 out of 5 fish die within the first month after being pulled from the sea. I hope he's wrong.
