I'm building the cabinet for my new Red Sea 45 gallon aquarium and for the life of me I am lost on this one step. I do not understand step 9. Instructions are unclear. Is this piece vital? Can I skip it and keep building? It looks to be some sort of slide out mechanism. There are no pre-drilled spots in the panel, so I don't know where to place it.

Did you install the panel backwards perhaps? So that the holes are on the wrong side? And do you have ALL the pieces? If there was a return, you may have received an incomplete set up. It is my belief that ALL steps need to be followed. Especially with that much water weight. I'd call the customer help line and see what they can do from a far.

I do have all parts and verified that this is the correct panel. I will try to call their help line to see if they can explain to me. I tried finding a tutorial for this assembly on YouTube, but am having trouble with that.

Thanks!
