point of filler light on SPS tanks

Advice wanted as I plan this 75. I was thinking of two hydra 32s (have used) paired with AI blades for filler. My thought process is that it would be cheaper long-term and cooler since they are LED strips instead of the normal T5/hybrid pairing, but I'm not exactly understanding the point of filler light to be honest. If it's just to cover blind spots, would I be okay with actinic (coral glow) strips instead of fuller-spectrum "grow" lights?
I am not getting actual corals until Christmas of next year, so I have plenty of research time, but wanted feedback.
