Well, That's something I never thought I would do, Scrubbing snails.

I noticed that my Astraea snails were covered in bubble algae. So, I pulled them out and scrubbed them with a brush and then dipped them in straight Hydrogen peroxide for about 20 seconds. I inverted them and tried to keep the H2o2 from getting too high and touching the "meat" but I know it must have to an extent so I will have to wait to see if I killed them.

I probably would have been good with just scrubbing or at least using a 25% H2o2 solution but I hate bubble algae. Plus, my snails look Marvelous now. LOL

Mine had a ton of hair algae for a while and I just let it go but when I saw the bubbles, out came the brush.
I am weary of bubble algae as well. I had an outbreak of hair algae within a year of setting my tank up and was able to beat it with a black out. Bubble algae I hear is a lot harder to beat. I have seen a few in my tank but I try to stay on top of anything that I see before it gets crazy.

Well, so far so good most of them have moved.

That is one fine looking snail, even if I do say so myself. LOL
