So I’m new to dosing, I’ve been temping to keep my parameters in check. I thought I finally got it and stop testing everyday and decided to test every 4th day but I was wrong.

So on the 10/6 my parameters were:
Phos- .03
Cal- 482
Mag- 1360
Alk- 9.0

On 10/10:
Phos- 0.02
Mag- 1330
Alk- 9
Cal- 529

My torches have been receding and I need help please

Look sideways at a torch and it will melt.

A rise in calcium is a non factor IMO.

Numbers are ok, phosphate little low. You want .05 to .1. Calcium slightly elevated. What is nitrates? What par is torch in? Should be 150 to 250 with low moderate flow.

I have no clue I need to buy the tester for nitrates, and I don’t know about par but they torches have been growing and always inspected them every other day and that had puffy healthy tissue last time that was on the 10/6

Well if you don't know your complete parameters that's a concern. Corals can be under stress for weeks or months before they show outward signs of decline.

Calcium is a little high, but nothing crazy. All your other parameters look good. What is your light, flow and dosing situation? Any picturesd

light it’s a radion xr30 gen 5 flow it’s moderate dosing it been off I’ve been testing daily for a week straight and stop like I said for 4 days what’s when the calcium when up in 4 days and magnesium went down. Do you guys know a good tester to test nitrates? I know Hanna that’s what I used but some people been telling me that it’s not worth it to get I and to purchase something else

What were your starting parameters? What were you trying to achieve by dosing?
I’m trying to achieve stable parameters before dosing my parameters were:
Alk-8.1
Calcium- 430
Mag- 1325
Phos- 0.01
Nitrates- 0
Ammonia- 0
Nitrites- 0

But calcium and alk would drop by quick since I had a heavy live stock and I was doing water changes every week and I’ve lost a on of coral when I was doing that

You're starving your corals.

agree with above, your starting parameters look fine. Just the nitrate and phosphate need to be increased to feed the corals, you can do that by feeding the fish a little more

Red Sea offers alot of supplements. Are you dosing Foundation A & B? How long have you been dosing?
Yea foundation A & B and magnesium
I’ve been dosing for 3 months on and off because I was testing and when things got i was letting it go down, when things got lower I was trying to play to make it stay there for a week but I wasn’t measuring right people was telling to lower alk dose calcium to lower calcium dose a calcium but not a single person told me how to keep it stable so I was doing my research and playing with the dosing at the same time which I know it’s dumb but nobody wanted to help they always gave me some type of answer that didn’t make any sense to me at that time
