Have had this ATO running for roughly 8-9 months now without any problems. The other day it just stopped working. I inspected all wiring and connections seemed fine, cleaned the float valve. And still acting up, if I move float valve by hand it works fine. Once I place in sump it seems to no longer work. Anyone else have this issue?

Hi,

Give a bump to see if anyone tonight has had this issue.

If the pump runs for x seconds, it shuts off, disabled and assumes a failure until power is cycled.
I recently had a couple of overflows that I fixed with cleaning the float.

Can you describe the failure mode.
For example
1. pump comes on, but no water. In this case, prime the pump.
2. Or pump never comes on, float sensor failure, perhaps it is flooded.

Where's mr tunze?

Pump never comes on unless I manually mess with the float valve. Once I manually move float valve it works fine until I place back in sump and the next day I come home from work and find it did not refill.

When you come home from work, is the float in the up position?
Does manual mess cause it to work at this point?
If so, sounds like mechanical problem with float, maybe insure the float axis is as vertical as possible.

No the float is all the way down, I think there is something wrong with the float. Weird part is when I move float up and down the pump will kick back on.

I recently had a similar problem with my nano and I removed the float sensor from the bracket and discovered that there was a ring of hard calcium buildup on the float and a corresponding ring on the inside of the plastic covering. I had to soak them in some citric acid and then scrape it off with my fingernail. Been working great again since. It's a pretty failproof ato in my opinion.

Sounds like the float is not free to move on its axis.

Yeah your right it’s weird I soaked in citric acid like I clean all other pumps and still nothing. Might have to get in touch with tunze.
