Hi everyone,

I have a reef tank in a high school shop and need a transient full cover to protect the water when/if we sand or use glue guns in the shop. It's a Red Sea Peninsula 500 (4 feet x 2 feet).

Thoughts on plexiglass? Or Polycarbonate? Or?

I'm not worried about gas exchange as the periods are only 70 mins and I have a skimmer running etc.

Thanks for any ideas. Trying to cut down on cost. I've got a fancy Clearview Mesh Lid arriving shortly that will prevent the jumpers.

Cheers,
Ross

i would say just cut a piece of plexi the same size at the lid, and stick it up there whenever you need to. can even get fancy and acrylic weld a tab on each side to prevent it from sliding off.

Much appreciated. Think I'll just go the plexiglass route and might even DIY a few tabs.
