I have a colony of zoanthids mounted on live rock on a 1in frag plug. It has about 20 polyps and they extend beyond the frag plug about a half inch in every direction.

Now I'm wanting to pull it out of the tank to remove a vermetid snail and to give it a dip and then replace it.

My question is when I go to pull it out of the tank will the polyps be stuck to the live rock or will they lift out freely in a mat? I've never done this before. If they are going to be stuck to the live rock I won't be able to pull it out. Any suggestions?
