When you first put a fish in QT what type of medicine should you dose the tank with?

IMO; you should always treat with Prazipro twice (a week apart.) That takes care of deworming, as flukes often harbor inside the gills out of sight.

It's also a good idea to prophylactically treat for external parasites such as ich, and Cupramine (mentioned above) is a popular choice for doing that.

As someone that used a lot of it, I recommend copper power or coppersafe. I have my doubts with regards to cupramine' effectiveness.
