Hi Everyone,

I have been on/off this site reading and educating all I can on the ins/outs of setting up a tank. I have been planning, re-planning, and slowly purchasing items for the last several months. I am interested in the Aquaticlife Smart Buddie as well as the XP Aqua RO/DI Flood Guardian but have not been able to determine if they can be used together to form a primary/redundant backup system. If so, how would the installation work? Does the Flood Guardian get installed after the media cartridges and before the membrane unit on the RO/DI system?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Pretty sure you would put the solenoid after the final DI stage. That was pressure builds throughout the system and the smart buddy will shut everything down. Basically it takes the place of a manual float valve...
