I posted a couple months ago, about a feeding question. I inherited a 55 gal tank and it had A LOT of algae. It's been getting better and better every day, but I had a question about one of the pumps. The 2 on the right side are quite , the one on the left side is really powerful and vibrates a lot. Should I get 2 more like the ones on the right? And is my current water flow ok? Thanks in advance, sorry so long!

It is looking better! I remember seeing your last post, good job! Personally I like good steady flow in my tanks, have you tried moving one of the two to the other side yet?

What model of pumps are the ones on the right? The pump on the left should definitely be removed....just because it is a h

I would remove the one on the left, and replace it with one of the two on the right. Do you know what model those are so we know how much GPH they are moving? The pump on the left is taking up a lot of room, and only provides a small, powerful stream of water which normally isn't the type of water movement you want anyways.

I have not tried that! And thank you so much, I've been working hard at it, and I added 2 more fish and a a bunch of snails! I'll definitely try adding a power head, I'll get to shopping! Thanks everyone

I like my Icecap 3k's, one placed horozonally on that left end might help allot. Or you can get the model numbers of the ones you have running like @Waters mentioned. You might have what you need and can save a buck or two.

Ok, so scrap the power head, pull the big one out , and move one of the two? Or should I buy another single one for the left side?
As everyone else stated, I wouldn't worry about buying another until you know how much water the two on the right are moving. It isn't a SPS tank so you don't need a ton of water flow. I would just move one of the right ones to the left. I would also soak them both in vinegar and clean them up....you will get much more flow once they have been cleaned :)

If it wasn't mentioned already, I'd drop those powerheads in half vinegar, half hot water, they should scrub easily after a 10 minute soak and probably increase your flow.
