Ive run into this issue recently where I have removed the coral from my system and gone to mostly anemones. In the process of doing this I have ended up with a low salinity of like 1.024 and an alk of like 11.6........ a few oopsies led to this happening and long story short now I simply want to know the best way to lower this alk and raise the salinity. I have very very little alk uptake in the tank now and cannot simply wait for the coral to absorb it as the only coral in this particular tank are zoa and over the last 2 weeks alk has only dropped .1

Its worth noting that no Alk is being dosed

I think it's because nothing is absorbing the alk anymore. Do a water change with lower alk maybe 50%. At the same time, you can increase your salinity. From my reading anemones consume little to no alk. Also check your cal while your at it. Just don't drop the alk more than 1dkh a day just to be safe. Afterwards don't dose and monitor consumption rate for the next three days. Then either dose or do WC from there. Hope this helps.
