OK since I don't wanna drill more holes in bottom of my 240g acrylic tank. I decide to run PVC pipes on bottom, and cover with sand.

I used a dremel to cut a slit in the cap at an angle. Then heated it up and opened it as needed for flow

Curious, why not just use a 1" strainer with a PVC coupler for easy removal and cleaning?

Edited:
I should have asked if this was the dain or is it the return?

It was for my return line. But changed it for a closed loop system now

If it's a closed loop, I'd leave them uncap or install loc-line to better direct the flow in the direction you want it. You can also cap the lock-line with flare nozzles to give you a better spread.

The DCT-1200 by Jebao is a nice pump thats quiet, adjustable, and won't break the bank.
