Plumbing new tank question.

My pump has 1.25" outlet and my tank return bulkhead size is 3/4". I've always read that increasing return pipe by one size is beneficial for flow, does it make sense to increase to 1.5" or should I keep it at 1.25"? I know regardless there will be a choke point at the tank when its reduced to 3/4" but I am trying to make the best of it . My sump is located in the basement which is 15ft away.

I would up size it. Minimize the friction loss everywhere you can.

How many GPH are you planning on?

I'm not sure . I am concerned with the head loss and distance where the sump is. The Vectra L2 is 3000gph. I want to get at least 600gph.
