AFR all for reef?. I won't use it because I don't think It can be dialed in well.I just started kalk a few weeks ago, so far I like it. I didn't realize so many people using AFR, I think I'd be afraid to after what happened to so many tanks here with the salt.
It looks more complicated than it is. You just have to have the right colorimeter and the right reagents.Wow just a few steps. Lol

Works well enough for me.AFR all for reef?. I won't use it because I don't think It can be dialed in well.
After a couple of good reads it doesn't seem as bad, just looked like a whole lot to do because of all the text.It looks more complicated than it is. You just have to have the right colorimeter and the right reagents.
That would be nice, is this the only "reliable" way we can test at home?Right! and multiple brands of product needed to mix.... I'm hoping one day hanna comes out with a good iodine checker
Don’t R2R and drive!!Have to pick up my daughter
There are some iodine testers but I don’t think they are as reliable. After a couple of good reads it doesn't seem as bad, just looked like a whole lot to do because of all the text.

I'm using Seachem reef iodide. Something I'm missing there?I don’t think there is an easy way to supplement iodine in our tanks. Mine is low on icp tests as well. I use the same method that Shane uses and test about once a month and adjust according to my results. I’m just worried about overdosing so I don’t tinker with it as much.
I didn't know there was a recipe adjustment. All I see is a lot number, 32856, on the bottom of the can.Do you know which mix you were using? Pre-increase of iodine formula? I recently bought two jars, one new one old. Seems like there's a lot of old stock out there still.(Petco is new BRS wasl old, but I was in a pinch and had coupons.
I meant as a supplement in a salt mix or something like AFR. I use Seachem Reef Iodide as well, based on the results of my testing. I wouldn’t blindly add iodide without having base and target numbers. Iodine gets used up so quickly that it’s hard to keep at a desirable level without running the risk of overdosing. At least, in my experience. I’d rather it be lower than over.I'm using Seachem reef iodide. Something I'm missing there?
