Its Friday GIF by The Office

Time for a good nap on the plane home. Original flight got delayed which would make me miss my connection. Instead took a direct to LA and will just rent a one way car to drive home 2 hours.

Today is UV install day woop woop. I'm debating on 2 options.. From skimmer section to return section in sump or from return section directly to display.

I'm leaning this way after reading about ato issues with return section. I have dual returns running off one pump. I'm on the fence about cutting into the existing plumbing to add the setup. I think I'm just going to run basically a 3rd return connected to just the uv

Either way....intake before skimmer return after skimmer seems to be the way. The best way is from the display and back into the display reallly but it could be unsightly perhaps.

This is what is in my head. I just don't know the difference between this and dt to dt. Is it worth it? Most people just hook it directly to return lines

When I did mine I plumbed a UV loop in the return line. Basically a T off the return after the check valve followed by a gate valve so I could control the flow through the UV. The loop meets back to the main return before going to the tank. I also used a couple true union ball valves so I could remove the UV for service without shutting down the return pump.

Did you notice any tank changes after installing uv?

Theory is “closer to the source”. DT to DT you’re adding items that never would go down overflow. Previously I plumbed my intake by skimmer out just before the return chamber and never had any issues- it worked fine
