Hi guys,

I'm doing a homework preparing a list of fishes for 180 gal FOWLR tank (6x2x2).

Here is what I'm thinking about with a minimum tank requirement and max size of a fish

Eel
- Snowflake Eel (Echidna nebulosa), 50 gal, 2'
- Zebra Moray Eel (Gymnomuraena zebra), 125 gal, 5'

Triggerfish
- Blue Throat Triggerfish (Xanthichthys auromarginatus), 125 gal, 9"

Lionfish
- Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish (Dendrochirus brachypterus), 50 gal, 7"
OR
- Dwarf/Zebra Lionfish (Dendrochirus zebra), 50 gal, 7"

AND

- Antennata Lionfish (Pterois antennata), 50 gal, 7"

Puffer
- Blue Spotted Puffer (Canthigaster solandri), 50 gal, 5"
- Narrow-Lined Puffer (Arothron manilensis), 125 gal, 1'

Tang
I wanted
- Naso Tang (Naso lituratus), 180 gal, 1'6"

Large Angels
- Lamarck's Angelfish (Genicanthus lamarck), 125 gal, 9"

Filefish
- Tassle Filefish (Chaetodermis penicilligerus) (also known as the Leafy Filefish or Prickly Leatherjacket Filefish), 180 gal, 1'

Other
- Marine Betta (Calloplesiops altivelis) (Comet), 50 gal, 8"

I have 120 gal community tank with corals and the predatory fishes are new for me. I'm open for any suggestions.

Thanks

Are you planning to qt before they go to the dt. All of the lions should be maintained in an observation tank and converted to eating dead food before adding to a community display. All of the species you are looking at usually come in eating only live food. Some have success, some don't; fuzzies tend to be the easiest while the antennata can be challenging sometimes impossible.

The blue spot puffer tends to be nippy, the lions and the tasseled filefish will likely attract his nippy attitude.

Yes, they all will be QT'd before adding to DT and eat frozen food.

Which puffers do you recommend?
