That is not a straight picture side way. The position of the pelvic fins tell me that the picture is taken from the side but also in front.
I do think it is a male. But I think he is very thin with obvious pinched dorsal area. Unless he is really eating well, I would not get him because he is so thin.

Both are gaining weight and are very healthy, good eater. They mainly eat aiptasia now , and other fauna in the tank. I only occasionally feed them now.

I was gone for 2 weeks. The QT only get automatic pellets feeding one of the two weeks. My son was home for one week and he fed frozen and flakes twice a day when he was home. I got home yesterday and ALL visible aiptasia is GONE. I really like it. All the fishes and corals are doing great. The CBB pair is a fat as ever.

Hey @OrionN I'm thinking of trying a pair in my new tank. Would you mind sharing your oppinion on the sex of my current one. I'm thinking female but would like a second oppinion if you don't mind?

None of these pictures are usable in sex determination of the fish. Need direct 90 degree picture at camera level.
1st picture from the front and above
2nd picture from below and front
3rd at about 90 degree but from below
Picture from the needed angles is a must to reliably use to sex CBB.

My pairs are doing well in my DT. I put them in 2 weeks ago. They were stressed and chased my some of the fishes. They got stung badly by the aiptasia in the tank and started to get fin rots early on. This stabilized after about 48 hrs or so and the fin rots stop. I was out of town for the last 9 days. Got back in town last night. I find the CBB pair doing well with healing fins. They hunt and eat with full stomach and is pooping :)))
Picture just now. Noted the healing fins that still need to grow out.

I appreciate you taking the time to assist. Glad to hear your pair are doing well in spite of the stings. Are either of these picture usable?

I think this is a female from the second picture. The first picture is misleading because it is taken from the front and slightly below. This make the female looks almost like a male.

Thank you I have both fish here now and they look male and female. I imagine it's easier to see the differences being able to watch them in person. I just picked up the male 2 days and have him in a stock tank with a bunch of mature rock with natural food for him. Now to try and train him on frozen. Thanks for your help. I'm looking out for a female flame angel now but all the lfs have are males.

In the middle of the tank hunting, not bother by anybody. I think the female is exceptionally attached to the male. When ever the female find herself about 2+ feet from her beau, she would dash like mad to him. I got to video this sometime and post it.

My CBB pair is well on their way to healed from the trauma of introducing to my DT. Rarely does any of the resident fish make a run for them. They are quick so they get out of the way easy enough. My tank has so much aiptasia that they sexually reproduced in it. Baby aiptasia always float around. The two CBB eat them like candies. Any baby aiptasia floating within about 1 foot in front of them will be consumed. Both always have full stomach now.
Male, all the fins healed. Even the two points of each of the pelvic fins started to show/grow-out again.

Female, still need to grow out the caudal fin
