That won't even get me interstate, never mind international! You're very lucky to have such easy access. Looks well worth a visit!
Well it does take me 3-4 hours to drive from Nottinghamshire to Dover as well.

I just figured if the germans could do it, I could no problem in my modern transport!

They do seem to like their sausages. I had heard this and they look fabulous. The sausages that is.

6.5hours plus 3 to 4 hours driving.....that literally IS borderline to get me interstate. To Queensland or Victoria at least, it still wouldn't get me to South Australia or points beyond.

And now you can truly say you've experienced the wurst of Germany! ;)

If anyone’s wondering why I haven’t posted for a while, having returned from the glorious Maldives, I decided the climatic conditions in England did not suite my ‘mood’ were as the Mediterranean does!

So I prepared both tanks, with several backup systems in place for those unwanted events, like main pump failure, ATO, heater etc., and decided to go south, drive to be precise, for nearly 4 weeks to Spain, driving through France.

The climatic conditions were most favourable as you can see, and no rain!

We came back on the Santander to Plymouth ferry, via the Bay Of Biscay, which apparently is one of the worst seas on earth! And yes we did experience some ‘chop’!

So who shares this pain…about 5 down…!

A supposedly simple job, which I hate!

But I have a solution…….

IMG_1441.jpeg
If that is what I think it is ( a wrench for Ro filters ) I think you must be tightening them too much. Anyway I use an 18 inch pipe wrench. Lots of leverage don't need a lot of torque. Or which I have never tried a strap wrench, or maybe an oil filter wrench

You are spot on! Lol

And yes my new ‘tool of joy’, is an oil filter wrench!

Oh what bliss!

It's working better I assume?
Marvellous! Lol

I had been looking for something to replace the plastic version for years, but sometimes things are just to obvious….

I was forced reluctantly to clean the protein skimmer in the S650 this morning.

Its only been about 4 months, but my wife heard a strange switching noise from Apex as the skimmer was freaking out and causing ‘moisture’ in the floor and tripping the leak detector.

The leak detector is basically useless as it just kept switching on/off the every second and didn’t even notify me. The wife did!

Anyway, bless her, I put the bits in the sink and she started cleaning them….!

You've got a keeper there mate! I'm sure most wouldn't have cleaned the parts, but thrown them out and then torn strips off you for putting them in the sink!:rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Oddly I never use the sink other than for a final clean, I take them outside and wash them with a hose.

Shows what a filthy tart she is, and in all the wrong ways!!

Hope she doesn’t read this…!

are those anthias eating dry food from the feeder?
Yes they eat it, no problem. Its a mixture of ocean nutrition small pellets (because from the feeder) 1 and 2. Thats all they get when im away

Normally i feed frozen food midday and then the feeder comes on at 6.30 in both tanks
