Hey all,
Have my first anemone, been reefkeeping awhile, but have not kept nems.
Moved my tank into our new house and am giving them a go.
Have a rose bta that’s doing great.

I have referenced a FAQ about nems from another site. Info seems good, but it’s dated (maybe).

One of the things it references is shipping. Says buying local is preferred. Cool, always prefer that over online when I can. But beyond green and rose, haven’t sourced anything else.

Obviously shipping is highly dependent on the shipper, but do BTAs do okay shipped? Assuming the shipper is decent…

I haven’t had any issues receiving shipped BTAs, they should have a decent amount of water and ideally no air in the bag with them. Haven’t had issues with LTA’s or mini carpets either.

As long as it hasn’t eaten anything in the last few days, and they don’t get too hot or too cold, they do just fine. Also only ship 1 per bag, as chain reactions happen very quickly if one doesn’t make it.

Make sure they have a DOA policy as well.

IME bubble tips tend to ship very well in general. Obviously that's dependent on the health of the anemone and the competence of the shipper, but if both of those are adequate they ship very well.
