Hey all added two cleaner wrasses a week ago. I noticed one has a faded head. He is still active and eating well but looks very different from my other. First picture is of the one woth normal color. Last couple are of the smaller one with the faded head. No spots seen and no scratiching, swimming in the flow or any other stuff seen to indicate his is sick. Just want to make sure…

I’ll try to get a pic tomorrow as my lights are out but mine has the same markings
If you observe, they emerge at lights on, swim all over, enter rocks and visit the occupants in the tank frequently

Just a side note: cleaner wrasse have a terrible survival rate unless they are collected from Australia or East Africa. Most do not come from those areas and with them, you will see a mortality rate in the first month over 50%

Ah okay! How many do you have for your fish? I cant have cleaner shrimp cause my triggers will eat them. My fish love my cleaner wrasse and are constantly chasing them around to be cleaned

Do note that they can be real a**hats with certain fish. They absolutely hate (with a passion) valentini pufferfish. There was one other fish my cleaner wrasses tormented mercilessly but I can't recall offhand which one it was.

hows the survival rate of those from Biota?
We may be biased but from receiving them and keeping them at our Florida for a bit the survival rate is probably one of the highest of all of our species. I never have any DOA from our Hawaii facility. They are tiny, typically around 1"-1.25" but constantly eating pellets, frozen, masstick and really whatever we throw at them. If you have larger fish they could be gobbled up.
