Hi there,
Quick question, I noticed I have high levels of silicates from my rodi despite having several di resins after the membranes. I use mb115 resin yet still persist in high readings. I know gfo will help remove silicates but don’t want to affect my po4 levels. My question is, can I make a gfo filter on my ro system(like a resin pod), before I mix fresh salt up. It’s not a massive issue, just annoying when I do a water change I will get a spike in diatoms for a few days after.
Thanks

Yes, you could run the di effluent through GFO. I’m not sure if that will work better or cheaper than another di cartridge, however.

Thanks Randy, I have 2x di pods, can’t silicate pass through when it’s neutral? Thanks

It can, but the pH in an anion binding di resin us very high and most will bind.
