Silicone for crack sump info

Hello reefers,

I had a small crack in my sump and now it has expanded and it has a slow drop leak. Is it possible to use “white 100% silicone” that I have on hand or will this affect corals and fish ?

no,has mold inhibitor , assuming sump is glass ?

I'd be more concerned about complete failure while sleeping.
