I was looking for some skimmer suggestions for a 120g tank with a 40g long sump. The current owner is running a Reef Octopus SUPER SRO 3000INT, so I am leaning in the direction or that or a Reef Octopus SUPER SRO 2000INT. I was wondering what other have used on a similar sized tank and how you liked it. I plan to stock it heavily with corals and fish and I will probably be running a GFO and carbon reactor.

I have a 120 gal and a 75 gal sump running a SRO 3000 INT. I also have a 45 gal frag and 40 gal breeder attached to the same system, so about 250 gals total. Great skimmer for the price. The Bubble Blaster 3000 pump is great.

I had a Octo Extreme 200, but the SRO 3000 is in another league. The skimmer water discharge in the 3000 is about 10x what the Sicce pumps out on the Extreme 200.

Take a look at the SWC skimmers. They seem to be a great bang for the buck and everyone who has them seems to love them. I'm looking to get the 160 for my current tank and a 125 future upgrade. Maybe someone who has some experience with them can chime in.

Go SWC from Luke. Without a doubt the best skimmer out there for the money. If I did not build my own skimmer I would have a SWC cone.

I love my SWC 180. It's running on my 120 now and in a few weeks will go into my 180 upgrade. Luke is a great guy to deal with too.
