Small Clam-like critter - need ID help

Just noticed this little guy during this week's water change. It's about 3/4 cm in diameter. See video for scale (and action).

Does anyone know what this is? Friend/foe?

Didn't work that time either - a lot of people upload to YouTube or similar, then link here to get the videos to work.

That said, if it's a bivalve (clams, mussels, oysters, scallops, etc.) like it seems to be in the pic, then it's totally harmless - so a friend.

I think you're right about the bivalve. He definitely 'clams up' (pun intended) when a copepod ventures into his little mouth. I'll leave him be.

That’s a pretty sweet hitchhiker that made its way into the system!
