Some sort of people eater morph?

They aren't normally umbrella shaped like this. I had just moved them down next to the glass so I could take a close up shot of them. Anyone have any ideas? The closest I've found was something somewhere called feedmeseymour palys. Never heard of that name before

I have had a few pe types over the years and every once in a while I've seen them do just that.
It's just a response to something happening around them. Like being moved or sudden water movement near them.
Not sure if it's just with zoanthus gigantus or others do it too.

There was a thread here on R2R a while back where people posted their pictures of polyps doing just that.

These I picked up from my LFS. He has a great selection usually. I figured the umbrella shape was because I had just moved them down from the rocks to the sand to take a picture and didn't wanna wait for them to open up again

Yeah pretty much.
It is kind of a cool effect.

Don't PEs looked striped when they are closed like that? All of mine do at least.
