Sponge?

Any one of have an idea what this might be?? They are starting to pop up everywhere in the tank.

Yeah, definitely a sponge, looks like it could be a pineapple sponge. How old is the tank? They are harmless filter feeders that show up in fairly new systems. They will hang out for a while, multiply like crazy, then slowly disappear. but harmless in the meantime. Just a little unsightly.

Yeah, definitely a sponge, looks like it could be a pineapple sponge. How old is the tank? They are harmless filter feeders that show up in fairly new systems. They will hang out for a while, multiply like crazy, then slowly disappear. but harmless in the meantime. Just a little unsight

Tank is about 2 1/2 years old

Hopefully someone else with more knowledge than me will respond, but that definitely looks like a pineapple sponge to me. look them up and compare the photos to what you are seeing in your tank. I had probably hundreds of them in my tank in the beginning.
