What's up everyone ,

So I started a pico tank thats been running for 3 months now and is ready for some lights ,The idea behind this setup was to hopefully be able to successfully grow some sticks in a small 5 Gallon tank . I have many different options when it come to lighting but before i commit to one i would like some of your inputs .

I need something with enough par to grow sps coral as the goal is to be an sps dominated tank with that being said i listed some of my options below .

Lighting options :

Radion xr15 Gen 5
2 Ai HD Primes
Hydra 32

Tank Dimensions :
17" x 11" x 7"

A single prime would be way more than adequate and will grow sps. I have one on half of my 75 gallon sump and it grows Acropora just fine. What’s the plan for water movement without splashing out? Could you squeeze in a small gyre pump on one end? That would get the job done.

Thanks you for your input. Do you have any pictures you could post ?

Also That’s what I had in mind although I’d like to keep using Lilly pipes to keep the the tank minimal so I’ll probably stick to using them. At the moment I’m running a spinning Lilly pipe but once I add some sps I’ll switch it to a jet Lilly pipe which allows for more flow. It should be fine for a 5 gallon. But if I find it’s not practical i will have to change .

They are used in freshwater scapes typically for anyone that’s hasn’t used them before.

Agree with Softhammer on this. Given the footprint and depth, one AI Prime 16HD would be more than enough. Can't wait to see it with some sticks!

So I decided to go with the hydras for a number of reasons. for anyone that’s interested in what the set up looks like I attached a picture. It look super cool and completely happy with the over all aesthetic’s of it too .

I know you're looking for input on the lights but I wanted to say this is a beauty of a tank! Is this custom? Do you have a build thread that shows the setup and configuration like sump, etc? I'll be making note of the recommendations on lights (and your setup) because this is the build I want to do or close to it.

Thank you , I don’t have a build thread on this pico but If you want to know more about it send me message and I’ll tell how I built it .
