The following Treatment with both RTN-X and STN-X was Applied using the NDOC results from a week before to calculate the exact dosage.

RTN-X Initial Intense Treatment

1. Took 650 ml of aquarium water out of the tank and dosed 6.50 ml of RTN-X to it. Mixed and waited 20 min.
2. Shot down down all circulation pumps
3. Applied with a Syringe the prepared solution around the area of the Necrosis creating a cloud that surrounded the coral.
4. Left it for 5 minutes before turning circulation pumps back on.

After intensive treatment started dosing daily a preventive dosage of RTN-X of 1.35 ml.

3 Days later

STN-X initial Intense Treatment

1. Took 650 ml of aquarium water out of the tank and dosed 6.50 ml of STN-X to it. Mixed and waited 20 min.
2. Shot down down all circulation pumps
3. Applied with a Syringe the prepared solution around the area of Necrosis creating a cloud that surrounded the coral.
4. Left it for 5 minutes before turning circulation pumps back on.

After intensive treatment a daily preventive dosage of STN-X of 1 ml was applied.

Both RTN-X (1.35ml) and STN-X (1.00 ml) preventive dosage was aplied for 21 additional days together.

Since the beginning the Necrosis Stopped and today 1 month later this is how the acropora looks.

looking good but I got a few questions

1. What’s NDOC and has your water quality improved?

2. Do you have to use both rtnx and stnx?

3. Where do you buy them?

thanks!

NDOC is a test from Triton that gives you control over key Nitrogen Compounds, Dissolved Organic Carbon and an exact Alkalinity measurement by analyzing the exact amount of Inorganic Carbon. You can balance and control the nutrients that have influence over bacteria, Cyanobacteria and algae on reef aquariums.

You need measurements from NDOC to apply a direct Intense treatment like RTN-X and STN-X.

With the results from NDOC and this calculator and the precise measurement of Phosphorus from ICP-OES you can prepare an exact treatment.

I'm attaching a file that explains the bases of the NDOC test.

Unique coral was the only vendor that had this product for sale but it’s out of stock. I checked that saltwater aquarium, BRS and a few vendors are authorized but there’s nothing on their sites. Where can I order this stuffs without ordering from out of the country?

Based on the reviews this product does not work. Yes I knew about this product but thanks for the comment anyway.

Do we apply two treatments? First RTN then STN?

The products were designed to be used independently depending on whether you have RTN or STN but the results above show good results when both were used at the same time.

Can we use this kind of like a dip ? I'm not really comfortable doing a whole tank treatment when not everything is affected.

You can but you need to reduce the concentration that we provide on the calculator by 3 as it is expected to be diluted over a larger volume in the aquarium.

Having said this the contents of these products are completely reef safe and there would be less stress to the affected colony if you can leave it in the aquarium during treatment.
