I’ve been doing some research online and have been coming across online sales of GPS coral that are listed as either SAF or WWC. I see these terms used all over the place but for the life of me can’t figure out what they actually mean. I figure it must be so obvious to those in the hobby that people never need to define it. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Ah yes, thanks! I meant GSP! Can you imagine a coral with GPS capabilities?!?

So then does that mean that a coral that’s being sold with the label “WWC” on it means that the seller originally got it from the “World Wide Coral” company? Why would someone want to specify that when they’re selling a coral online?
Do you know what SAF stands for?

Some venders will claim a strain of coral or slight color variation as a home grown strain and slap their name on it. There is probably other reasoning behind it but thats my very basic understanding...

They are hoping the WWC is going to get them an extra chunk of $$ for a name brand.... While GSP is a weed.

Did not know who SAF was.

Now I know.
