Hi wanted to share my weird sump setup and see what people suggest, my water goes in I use filter socks with the bottom cut it of the first one as hate them, but the dull flow noise, in my first chamber I run the in and out of a connected uv cannister filter, then water goes through biomedia various sponges, and to return pump, I finally got a sump tank and didn't love it accept it hides away my filter etc, I had a protein skimmer that kept going nuts so Skipped it, anyway want to add copepods somewhere in there could change setup, I'm fairly new to sumps, but figure sponges media check, I know could use more media, maybe with the cannister intake put take? The right media may make a good copepod hotel?

The pods will live in those sponges for sure.

Rock rubble would work also. They make pod hotels... search amazon.

Personally I wouldn't put a sponge anywhere in my tank, sponges are dirty and will hold on to a lot of nasties, not just copepods.

The majority of copepods live in the rocks and sand. Will always lose some copepods to filters and protein skimmers, but the main population lives in the rocks and sand.

I am considering taking out the sponges and putting in a refugium area but I still want to keep the canister filter I'm thinking if I do a refugium after the canister filter and before the pump that goes back into the tank it may work and stick a hole heap of Rock rubble or something as well
