Got the wrasse from LA. The stomach looks a little bloated and it’s always swimming downwards. It did bury itself at night to sleep in the sand bowl and nibbled some food today.

Definitely looks like a swim bladder issue, you can try dosing plain epsom salt (1 tablespoon per 5gallons) and hope it resolves itself... if not, might consider venting it :/

I reached out to my local FB group. Maybe there is someone there who know how to do this. There is a vet who works with fish here maybe I can get him out here to do it who knows. I’m not confident doing this on my own. Don’t really care about the price of the procedure - just want to get it better.

Holy crap venting seems way advanced. I don’t think I can precisely take a needle to a fish

It takes a certain level of grit... for sure [emoji37]

The video is really good though, if you feel you want to give it a try. Otherwise, not much you can do... sometimes antibiotics are suggested, but I’m not sure they really help :/

I have never done it myself but have seen quite a few threads from guys who have done it with success. I guess it just becomes a last chance for the fish so most give it a go. I would try Epsom first.

Does any epsom salt work or do I need to use a certain type.

I also hav copper at 1.1 ppm in there right now. Any issue with having both in the tank?

Pure USP Epsom Salts 1 Tablespoon per 5G(unscented, no dye, etc) and I don’t think it will be an issue with copper.
@ngoodermuth correct?

Alright - I added in the Epsom salt. He managed to get to the sand bowl again and buy itself. I take it if he can do that that is a sign that it's not that bad?

I'm going to stop by Target to see if I can get a 30 gauge syringe. Amazon won't prime them. Looks like I'll have to get a box of them. I got everything else I needed from WalMart
